Coincidence...I Think Not.

We have had some major events happen in the Beasley household in the past few days.  I know what you are thinking.  "Oh did Jacob crawl?"  Nope, still not mobile. Jacob's accomplishments lately have been more verbal than physical, save one.  We will start with the first.  We were outside in our sunroom.  Jacob has been trying very hard to pull up.  I have been working on finding the perfect piece of furniture for him to pull up on.  Well we finally found it.  Jacob likes to pull up on the ottoman.  As he was doing so, each time he would say "up."  I was so excited.  We practiced that a few times then finally took a nap.  I think he slept just a little bit better knowing he had that milestone under his belt.  The "up" was a clear as day.  No coincidence there, he has that word down.  That same morning he also looked down at the dog and simply said "dog."  I did not prompt him in any way.  There was no mistaking that is what he said.  Now, he has been saying up, dog, duck, more, ma ma, and da da, for a while, but sometimes he is just mimicking and other's I just think it may be coincidence.  There was no doubt with the above stated events.  Well this morning I had Jacob on the floor and was about to feed him his oatmeal and fruit.  By the time I got there to feed him, he had rolled across the room.  So I sat where we normally eat breakfast in hopes he would be forced to crawl.  Well he did make some headway.  For a couple of days he has actually been able to go up on all fours, and is also very capable of pushing himself backwards.  (As a side note, Sunday evening he did try to go forward and face planted.  At least he tried).  He was able to roll towards me some as well as push forward a bit in army crawl fashion.  But then he did something he had never even tried to do (at least to my knowledge), he sat up from being on his tummy.  I was once again quite impressed and gave him a round of applause, which he loved.  We finally got to the good part, breakfast.  There was just one problem, I wasn't feeding him fast enough.  At which point he said "more!"  When the food was all gone and I got up to wash out his bowl he said "more, more!"  There was no mistaking what he said and once again, I did not prompt him.  I left Jacob for a minute to wash out his bowl and pick up a few other things around the house.  At one point I walked by him leaving him in quite the tizzy.  As I walked back by, he looked up at me and said "ma ma."  Coincidence...I think not.
