2010 Came Rolling In!

I had been dreading New Year's Eve because you are expected to stay up until midnight (at least).  Well when your child has been waking up every morning between 3:30 and 4:30, midnight is about three hours past bedtime.  I didn't want to be a downer though so I had a friend come over while Matthew went over to another friend's house.  We didn't go to bed until 1:30am, then Matthew came home at 2:30am (thus waking me up).  Jacob decided he needed to wake up at 3:15am to eat.  Luckily for me he went right back to sleep and slept until 7:00am.  Exhausted, I had planned on Jacob laying on his playmat and I was going to catnap on the couch.  Before I could even lay down he started in with his new high pitched shrill.  "Great, I am never going to get any sleep."  I decided just to sit down and play with him, and boy am I glad I did.  Jacob was laying on his back and playing with his toys (mind you he has just figured this one out too).  I noticed he would roll over on his side, so I pulled him away from his toys in hopes that he would reach for them and roll over.  Well he didn't.  I helped him to his tummy for the oh so important "tummy time."  Jacob really has never liked this "tummy time" so I never really force the issue.  Low and behold he started to roll over.  I am sitting there cheering him on, praying he roll over the rest of the way.  I waited and within a few seconds, presto!  Buddy I scooped him up so fast and went running into the bedroom to tell Matthew all about it.  He was impressed but not so impressed that he wanted to get out of bed to come watch.  I took Jacob back to his playmat in hopes I could capture this milestone on camera.  As you can see below, his second and third time rolling over are indeed on video.  He progressively gets faster if you will pay attention.  I hope you enjoy watching as much as I did!
